    Holaaaaaa!

    So... yeah..
    Here I am.... everyone happy now??? lol
    I didn't think you'd all miss me.
    So, how has everyone been doing lately? No doubt most of you are enjoying warm weather... And we are too... well... if 40 degrees consitutes as warm weather. lol

    Here goes... I'll post a few pictures to try and let you know what I've been up to lately..



    "Saturday Night Alive" ... a sort of kid's club that my youth group has started at my church. Every Saturday night for kids 5-12. For parents, it's free babysitting, but for us, it's a ministry.
    We play games, have worship time and a lesson during class time. We had 27 kids last week. Some are kids from church, but the majority are kids from the community, so that is very exciting!



    My youth group's annual basketball tournament to raise money for our summer missions trip.This year we're going to Kentucky to do some work at a summer camp.




    Went to a "Seder" (Passover) Meal... at a friends house.. Quite interesting.. and yes, I am aware that you're supposed to have unleavened bread, and we did! But this was some "regular" bread that we ate afterwards... the glasses were just so pretty. lol





    I'm still teaching the Preschool Sunday School class at church... which is always an  adventure.  I usually have 6 or 7 girls.. and this week we actually had a boy!!!


    In other news... I leaving next Thursday, April 10th to fly to Tulsa, OK (YAY!) to see all my friends out there.. and then from there flying to Dallas, Tx for IPS, which is a photography course. Yay! After that I fly back to Tulsa for a few days and then come home on Tuesday, the 22nd. (My little brother's 15th birthday!!!)

    So yep...
    Now for a few random quotes/stories.. because I know you guys have missed them..

    The other week, Jess was helping 8 year old Susanna with her school work. Susanna was learning about the lungs, and how they help us breathe.
    Jess: "So, we breathe in oxygen and we breathe out...?"
    Susanna: "....Microsoft! I mean.. carbon dioxide."

    Me: "Matty, don't go picking up girls in Florida now, think of whatshername.. Rachel.... Rebecca... Leah..."
    Matt B.: "Rachel, and she'll still be here.
    Me: "MATT! No more picking up the 'H"i, I'm 15 and fun' girls"
    Linz: "Yeah, Matt, stay away from those "Fun Girls"... you know how much trouble Andy Griffith got into with them."
    Matt B.: "I haven't seen that one, but it sounds like it went really.... wrong."

    Alyssa: "The problem is, when I am helping a cute customer (which is rare) I have to pay attention or else I'm like "huh? I'm sorry. You are just so HOT"

    Jess: "I approve of him for you, and will totally help you catch him."
    Me: "Yeah, you'll help him.. right down the aisle! YOUR aisle!"

    Me: "You know what, I think he deserves a song."
    Jess: "You're right, someone that beautiful neeeeeeds a song."

    Ang: "It's really weird seeing your pastor in a bathing suit.."
    Jess: "Ahhhhh!"
    <silence>
    Me: "So... Ang, when you say 'bathing suit..."
    Jess: "NO!!! "
    Me: "I just wanna know.. I mean.. what color was it?"
    Beth -screaming the background "Guys!!! Stop!!!!!!"
    Ang: "Ah! I don't even know... I... yeah... I'm trying to forget!"

    Matt S.: "You'll find me dead in my office with 472 stabs made with a pen, a blue pen so you know it wasn't a man."

    Jess: "Bald is the new sexy!"
    Me: "Totally.... I so don't have a problem with bald. I mean, at least you already know what he looks like bald and it's not a problem."

    Me: "I'm so over boys. I only like men now."



    Alright... that's most of it for now... k?  Everyone happy?

  • Ministers Fellowship

    Wow... I've never really realized just how crazy old pastors can be! lol
    Every year the Conservative Mennonite Conference holds "Ministers Fellowship" a sort of conference/retreat for all of the pastors and their wives. It's held at a different church each year. (The last time we had it was about 10 years ago).
    All of the people at my church have been freaking out about it for months. *shakes head* Getting everything all ready... and heavens, a couple of weeks ago when the sprinkler system malfunctioned in the kitchen and the ceiling collapsed because of all of the water... oh my. I thought a few people just might burst into tears!!!
    I was somehow named "Secretary" for this whole shabang.  Which means I sit at the front desk and do registration, answer questions, print the handouts for the speakers and... find pillows... apparently. =\ Yeah, that's what I thought. lol
    So, yeah, crazy people... I think one of THE most hilarious things I heard today was..
    A certain lady with dyed red hair (seriously, she must have been in her 70's) came up to the desk to ask a question and while she was standing there a man comes up to greet her and asks "So, is your husband here?"
    She winks at me and says "Noope, I left him at home. I decided this sounded like waaay too much fun here with alllll of these men and I said 'You stay here, I'm going by myself!"
    hahahaha! (her husband was there by the way)
    I have made a friend in the main speaker who uses my name ever 2 seconds. lol Apparently he approves of me though, so that's happy.
    Some old man was like 'Hello there.... (looking at my name tag) Janelle... And who are you married to?"
    haha... I'm like um, yeah... not married. Ha, thank goodness.
    Some people were making comments saying I might just find a husband here. (Apparently they think I need one).
    I said "Ooh, which one of these delightful old balding men shall I choose? Make up a list of the widowers..." haha
    Because heaven knows there are never any YOUNG single men at these things.
    I have been sooooo nice and friendly these last two days... I'm ready to go crazy... by Thursday I think I will have snapped and will start terrifying little old men and women. I'll probably freak out and start killing people or something... yikes.
    Hahaha... ah, so the sweet old man that I'm working with... he's hilarious.
    Someone came up yesterday and asked if we had wireless at the church...
    Richard says "Oh yes, we have wireless... do you need a phone?"
    rofl...
    I'm looking at him... like 'Huh?"
    And the other guy is like 'Oh no, Um, not if you have wireless"
    Richard looks at me and says 'I have no idea what it is, but Leon said we have it."
    rofl... Ahhhh.... yeah, wow.
    Okay, so that's it for now...
    How's that for a nice little update?

    And I'm pretty sure it'll still be high on the list at the end of the year as well. lol

    I told you my friends were coming. (yay!) ..And I made a new friend. (yay!)
